Ireland pays in euro and speaks English, and online that combination is rarer than you might think. A lot of English-language casino sites are built for sterling or dollar players first. Paying in euro, and keeping your balance in euro, is the quiet detail that decides whether a €50 deposit is really €50.
Why the balance currency matters
When a casino holds your balance in another currency, every deposit is converted on the way in and every withdrawal on the way back. Each conversion has a rate, and the rate is rarely the one you see on the news. Your bank may add its own charge for a foreign-currency card payment on top. None of it appears as a line called fee; it shows up as a balance that is slightly smaller than expected.
All five casinos we cover run the cashier in euro: CasinoPurple, ZeSlots, Cas2Bet, CasinoWinner and YourWin24. Deposit €30, see €30.
Debit card
Visa and Mastercard debit cards from Irish banks work at all five. A card is the most familiar route and needs nothing extra installed. Two practical points: the minimum on the card route was €30 when we checked, and card payouts are the slowest of the methods because they travel back through more parties. Use a debit card rather than a credit card; spending money you already have is the simplest limit there is.
Revolut
Revolut is in a lot of Irish pockets, and each of the five cashiers lists it. Two Revolut habits are worth knowing about here.
- Pay from the euro pocket. Revolut accounts can hold several currencies. If you travel and keep sterling or dollars in the app, make sure the payment comes from euro, otherwise Revolut converts first.
- Keep the in-app confirmation. The transaction screen is a clean proof of payment method if the casino asks for one during verification.
- Check the amount. €30 was the Revolut minimum we saw, above the €25 general floor.
Crypto: where the euro value moves
Each cashier also accepts crypto. Here the currency question works differently. You send coins, the casino credits euro at the rate of the moment, and during the minutes the transfer takes the price can move in either direction. With bitcoin or ether that movement can be noticeable. Stablecoins tied to the dollar, such as USDT or USDC, move much less against the dollar, but you are still converting dollars into euro somewhere along the line.
Three rules if you use crypto: send on exactly the network the cashier shows, copy the address rather than typing it, and send a small test amount the first time. A transfer to the wrong network or address cannot be reversed by anyone. If you do not already hold crypto, buying some only to deposit adds two conversions to a journey Revolut does in one step.
Round numbers and the minimums
Because the balance is in euro, the minimums are easy to plan around: €25 in general, €30 on Revolut and card. Pick a deposit amount that is also a sensible session budget, and decide it before you open the cashier rather than inside it. If you are taking a percentage welcome match, the deposit is also the base of the bonus, so the amount shapes everything that follows; the bonus terms guide walks through it in euro.
Reading your own statement
Keep an eye on how casino payments appear in your banking app. The line may carry the name of the payment company that processed it rather than the casino's brand, which is normal and not a sign that anything has gone astray. Note the date and amount of each deposit in a simple list for the first month. It takes seconds, it makes verification easier, and it is the most honest picture you will get of what an evening of play actually cost in euro.
Getting euro back out
Withdrawals usually go back to the route you paid in with, and asking for a different one is a common reason a payout pauses. So the deposit method is also a decision about how you will be paid. The stages of a withdrawal, and who controls each one, are mapped on deposits and withdrawals in Ireland.
Before the first withdrawal, the casino will ask for photo ID, a proof of address under three months old and proof of the payment method. With a card that means a photo with the middle digits covered; with Revolut, a screenshot of the account; with crypto, the transaction from your wallet.
Which route for which player
- Simple and occasional: debit card. Nothing to set up.
- Plays from the phone: Revolut, from the euro pocket. Covered further in mobile casinos for Irish players.
- Already holds crypto: crypto, with the network checked twice.
- Wants the welcome code: any of the three; the code goes in the promo box or the cashier, not with the payment provider.

Frequently asked questions
Do Irish online casinos accept euro?
The five we cover run their cashiers and balances in euro, so there is no conversion between deposit and balance.
What is the minimum deposit in euro?
€25 in general; the Revolut and card routes were asking €30 when we checked.
Can I pay with crypto and play in euro?
Yes. The casino credits euro at the rate when the transfer arrives, so the value can move while it is in transit.
Can I withdraw to a different method?
Usually not; payouts go back to the deposit route, which is why the first payment method matters.
