Our casino bonus guide sorts offers into their four types. This page does the next job: it takes the promotions page you are about to agree to and reads it clause by clause, in the order you will meet the clauses, with euro amounts an Irish player would actually deposit.
We do not quote any casino's wagering figure here. Terms change, and the casino's own promotions page on the day you deposit is the only version that counts. What follows is how to read it.
Clause one: is it opt-in, and where does the code go?
At the five casinos we cover every welcome offer is opt-in by code. The code goes in the promo box on the sign-up form or in the cashier with the first deposit: CAS100 at Cas2Bet, WIN300 at CasinoWinner, PURPLE100 at CasinoPurple, ZESLOTS250 at ZeSlots and YOUR250 at YourWin24. No code, no bonus, and a balance that is simply your money. That is a real choice, not a mistake to correct.
Clause two: the qualifying deposit
Look for the minimum that triggers the match and whether it is the same for every payment route. In practice the cashier minimum is the floor anyway: €25 in general, €30 on Revolut and card at our five. A match is a percentage of the deposit, so the deposit is the number that sets everything else.
Worked through: €50 with a 100% match is €100 to play with. €50 with 250% is €175. €50 with 300% is €200. The extra on top of your €50 is the bonus, and the bonus is what the next clauses are about.
Clause three: the wagering requirement and what it is a multiple of
This is the line that decides whether an offer suits you. It says the bonus has to be bet a number of times before it, and anything won with it, can be withdrawn. Read carefully what the multiple applies to:
- Bonus only. The multiple applies to the €50, €125 or €150 of bonus in the examples above.
- Deposit plus bonus. The multiple applies to the whole €100, €175 or €200. The same headline number then means considerably more play.
- Winnings from spins. Free spin wins often have their own, separate requirement.
Multiply the amount by the multiple and you have the total you must stake. Divide by your usual bet and you have the number of rounds. If that is roughly what you would play in the coming weeks anyway, the bonus costs you little. If it is far more, decline it.
Clause four: which games count, and how much
Slots usually count in full towards the wagering. Table games and live tables often count at a fraction, and some are excluded altogether. If you mainly play blackjack or live roulette, this clause can turn a generous-looking offer into one you will never finish. Check it before choosing the offer, not after the first evening at the live tables.
Clause five: the maximum bet while a bonus is active
Most promotions pages set a ceiling on the stake per round while bonus money is in play. Going over it, even once and by accident, is the classic reason winnings are removed at the withdrawal stage. If you like to raise the stake when a session is going well, either respect the ceiling strictly or play without the offer.
Clause six: time limits
There are often two: how long you have to claim the offer after registering, and how long you have to finish the wagering once it is active. When the second runs out, the remaining bonus and what it won usually disappear. A short window and a large multiple together are the combination to be wary of.
Clause seven: how your balance is spent
With a bonus running there are two balances, your cash and the bonus. The terms say which is used first and what happens if you ask to withdraw before the wagering is done. Often the request cancels the bonus. That can be exactly what you want: if the cash part has done well, forfeiting the bonus to take the cash out is a perfectly sensible move.
Clause eight: caps on what can be cashed out
Some offers, especially free spins and anything without a deposit, cap what can be withdrawn from them. The cap applies even after a big hit. Find the figure before you play; it changes the value of the offer more than the headline does.
A two-minute routine before you type the code
- Open the casino's promotions page and find the welcome offer's terms.
- Write down three numbers: the multiple, what it applies to, and the maximum bet.
- Work out the total stake required in euro and the rounds that means at your bet.
- Check that the games you actually play count towards it.
- Decide: code, or no code. Both are fine.
Which of the five offers suits which player is set out on best online casino Ireland; the short version is that the 100% matches leave the least to play through and the 250% and 300% ones give the most to play with.

Frequently asked questions
What does a wagering requirement mean?
It is the number of times a bonus (or deposit plus bonus, depending on the terms) must be staked before it can be withdrawn. Multiply the amount by the multiple to get the total.
Can I withdraw before finishing the wagering?
Usually yes, but the request normally cancels the bonus and what it won. The cash part of your balance stays yours.
Do live casino games count towards a bonus?
Often only partly, sometimes not at all. The terms list game contributions.
Do I have to take the welcome bonus?
No. At the five casinos we cover it is opt-in by code; deposit without the code and the balance is plain cash.
