Choosing a table is covered on our live casino page. This one is for the step before and after that: what actually happens when you sit down at a live dealer table for the first time, from opening the lobby to leaving with your balance intact. Nothing here is complicated, but most of it is never explained.
Before you open the live lobby
Three things are easier to do at the kitchen table than with a dealer waiting.
- Decide the session budget in euro and in rounds. €40 at €2 a hand is twenty hands; at €1 it is forty. Knowing the second number makes the first one easier to keep.
- Check whether a bonus is active. If you took a welcome code, live games may count only partly towards it, and there may be a maximum bet. The bonus terms guide shows where to look.
- Use a steady connection. The table is a live video stream. Wi-Fi beats a moving train every time.
Reading the lobby
A live lobby groups tables by game: roulette, blackjack, baccarat, game shows. Each tile shows the stake range, and many show how many seats are taken. The larger the floor, the more choice of low limits at busy hours. On the sites we cover, Cas2Bet runs 516 live tables and the other four 210 each, so a late-evening search for a cheap blackjack seat is most likely to succeed at Cas2Bet.
The dealer speaks to the whole table, not to you personally, unless you write in the chat. If a table runs in another language, its name in the lobby usually says so.
Stakes, in euro, before you join
The stake range on a table tile is per round, not per session. A table with a €1 minimum and a fast dealer gets through a lot of rounds in an hour, so the minimum alone says little about what an hour costs. Multiply your usual stake by the rounds you plan to play and compare it with the budget you set at the kitchen table. If the answer is uncomfortable, pick a slower game or a lower stake rather than a shorter evening that you will not keep to.
Roulette: the easiest first table
Live roulette has no seats, so it never fills. When you join, you see the wheel, the dealer and a betting grid with a countdown. Place chips while the timer runs; when it ends, betting closes and the ball is spun. If you miss the window, nothing is lost: the bet simply waits for the next round.
Check the wheel type in the table name. A single-zero wheel is the one to look for; the double-zero version gives the house more and is easy to sit at without noticing.
Blackjack: seats, and betting behind
Classic live blackjack has a fixed number of seats, often seven. When they are full you can usually bet behind a seated player, which means your chips follow their decisions. It is a pleasant way to watch the game's pace before taking a seat. Once seated, each decision has a timer. If it runs out, the table applies a default action, normally standing, so think on the previous card rather than at the last second.
Many studios also run versions where everyone plays the same hand with their own decisions and there is never a full table. They are a good first step if a timer with six strangers watching sounds stressful.
Baccarat and game shows
Baccarat asks only one question per round, player, banker or tie, and the dealer does the rest. It is the calmest live game for a newcomer. Game shows are the opposite: wheels, multipliers and a presenter, with longer gaps between results and many side bets on screen. Pages on Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette explain how each round works.
The chat, and table manners
The chat box is optional. Dealers will often greet players by username and answer a question about the rules. Keep it friendly and short; the dealer cannot see your cards, change a result or discuss your account. Anything about a payment or a disputed round goes to the casino's support, not to the table.
When something goes wrong
If the stream freezes or you lose connection, the round continues without you and is settled under the game's rules. Your bet is not cancelled because your screen stopped. Reopen the table, then the game history, and the outcome is there. If a result looks wrong, note the table name and the time and send them to support with a screenshot; that is all they need to look it up.
Leaving the table well
Decide your exit before you sit down: the budget is gone, the planned number of rounds is played, or you are ahead by an amount you set in advance. Live tables run around the clock, so there is never a last hand that has to be played. If you finish ahead, withdrawing on the same night is easiest when your account is already verified, which is explained on deposits and withdrawals.
The five casinos we cover all have live floors and all take euro by Revolut, card or crypto; the ranking with each welcome code is on best online casino Ireland.
